Planning can be a hotly debated and contentious subject. But in truth most planning applications are submitted and decided (over 90% approved) without raising an eyebrow.
Several years ago the Society changed its policy away from passing comment on numerous applications every year. The main reason, as most people find when writing to Kirklees Planning Department, is that it makes no difference. Little if any notice is taken of what people have to say unless it coincides with accepted wisdom within the planning service. It should be said that Kirklees is no different in this respect from other planning authorities.
